How to vendor a crate with dependencies above the Cargo.toml containing folder?

I'm trying to integrate envoy proxy's dynamic module SDK and I'm hitting an interesting issue with how crate vendoring works. Looking at the materialized configuration it looks like it's only materializing the contents of /source/extensions/dynamic_modules/sdk/rust and so is missing the abi.h and abi_version.h files.

Is it possible to model this?
