Straight package manager support? #1446

Description

@tesujimath

This question is motivated by me wanting to install a package from a local development directory or from a GitHub repo. Perhaps there is a better way. I used to use quelpa for this until it broke, and someone (OK, ChatGPT) suggested I look at Straight, which looks cool.

However, Straight expects you to go all in and disable legacy package management, and Prelude does not seem to be compatible with this.

I'd like to be able to explore Straight along with Prelude, but I am out of my depth, sorry.

As I said, I used to use quelpa for installation from GitHub repos and other places, but that broke when I switched recently from Linux to Mac (although I do not fully understand the breakage).

Thanks for Prelude BTW! ❤️
