Description
It would be helpful for us and our partners (public, private cloud teams) as well as their users to have an easy way to discover and see which "cluster services" they are using and/or have available to them. Examples of "cluster services" would be Sysdig, Vault and Artifactory. GitHub might also call into this bucket, but would require a different discovery mechanism.
Currently, there is no way for us to see this, and our partners would need to create custom scripts to determine this. This is likely a gap in their understanding of their service utilization, impact analysis, and service design. Users may know what they are using, but they may not be aware of additional services that are available to them, but that they are not using. they may also struggle to recall how to access each service, and this feature would allow surfacing deep links in the registry to help.
We have examples of using AirFlow to query the cluster and populate the registry database and this pattern could be used to service this feature, or other approaches could be taken.
