Inserting flow table entries after stoping and restarting switches

I am using BEBA software switch on mininet were I create a topology and upon receiving switch feature reply I add flow to each switch ..

I wanted to update the topology at run time, so I run a script on mininet to stop the switches, add new hosts, switches, and links. Then I restart the switches.

Now, at the controller, I add flow entries again to the switches upon receiving switch feature reply. The new switches got entries inserted while the old ones have no entires.

Any idea what is the reason for this?
