My path config doesnt work

Hi!

I am having trouble with configuring beets such that the folders are named as i want them.
My goal is to have albumartist/[year] albumartist - album/track - title, but i always get the default albumartist/album/track - title.
Am i missing a plugin for my config to work or is there some code i need to rewrite?
My config file is as follows:

I think beets might be trying to evaluate these two items $[ and $] around your $[$year$] part of the path, and fails, so falls back to the default.

you could try \[$year\] or even just [year]

I have tried both and get the same result, same if i only do $year without anything around it.
I also only do not get albumartist in the folder name of the album, only the name of the album.

That sounds very much like that your whole path stanza is not recognized. Check for YAML syntax issue. Usually YAML is very picky about indentation: Should be spaces, not tabs!

To get rid of all formatting issues in your config you might or might not have already, maybe copy over the example from docs (or the default from config_default.yaml) once again and then try to integrate your ideas one by one, each time running beet mv -p and see if it works. HTH

Besides that, everything @arogl said. $something$ is definitely wrong, Blabla - [$year] -Blabla - $bla should be correct. Also note that you have $original_year available as well.

Besides the remarks above, you've got an error in: ($media $format $mb_albumid}) where the curly bracket shouldn't be there.
