ID3v2.4 null separator

Hello,

ID3v2.4 introduces tags with multiple values separated by NUL.
I would like to achieve that using beets.
I tried using '\0' (beet modify <query> albumartist="artist1\0artist2"), but it gets inserted as literal which is not what I want.
