SRanipal may have finally fixed the logging memory leak issue!

Just wanted to share that the patch notes from Vive Console BETA report that SRanipal version 1.3.6.12(d) from December of last year has finally fixed the notorious memory leak bug! I just tested it by opting into the Vive Console beta on Steam, and my %UserProfile%\AppData\LocalLow\HTC Corporation\SR_Logs\SRAnipal_Logs\EyeCameraModule.log file is no longer a firehose 🎉

Your guide still reports that older versions are recommended, so I wanted to float this exciting info in case you weren't aware 🙏

Thanks for the thorough guide on setting up facial tracking! It's been consistently helpful each time I return to working with my Vive Pro Eye.

This is not fixed and should not be closed. SRanipal still logs many times per second depending on module. It still requires DLL modification or code injection to prevent massive log spam. Here is a log from 1.3.6.12 as OP stated that has grown to 83 MB in a matter of minutes:

Hi Dylan, did you try using SRanipal from the beta branch of Vive Console for SteamVR specifically? The non-beta branch does not have this fix, and I believe the direct download link for SRanipal alone does not either. The version number unfortunately does not report whether you are running 1.3.6.12d specifically, as it only reports 1.3.6.12 for both the fixed and non-fixed versions.

For example, using my Vive Pro Eye and facial tracker with SRanipal as it ships from the beta branch of Vive Console for SteamVR, my log files are all small in size after leaving SRanipal running, active, all day yesterday:

And, no firehose in EyeCameraModule.log either:

As you can see, those are all of my logs from yesterday (12-15). No noisy outputs, only 30 lines for the whole day; and the ERROR codes I believe are from when I closed SRanipal but continued to use my Vive. And, I did A-B testing to confirm that the non-beta version of SRanipal did still demonstrate the issue you show above on my system, so I am quite confident that a clean reinstallation of SRanipal via the beta branch of Vive Console for SteamVR has resolved this issue for me.
