Trademark Policy

The OpenUsage Brand

The "OpenUsage" name, logo, and associated visual identity are trademarks of Robin Ebers. The MIT license covers the source code, not the brand.

What You Can Do

  • Use "OpenUsage" to refer to this project in articles, blog posts, and discussions
  • Say your project is "compatible with OpenUsage" or "built for OpenUsage"
  • Use the name in community contexts when referring to the official project

What You Cannot Do

  • Use "OpenUsage" as the name of a fork or derivative work
  • Use the OpenUsage logo in your own project, product, or service
  • Imply that your project is endorsed by, affiliated with, or an official part of OpenUsage
  • Register domain names or social media accounts using "OpenUsage"

Forks

If you fork OpenUsage, you must:

  1. Choose a different name for your fork
  2. Remove the OpenUsage logo and branding
  3. Clearly state that your project is a fork and not the official OpenUsage
