nginx settings on a specific site

Hello,

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction on creating a conf for a site specific folder? I see nginx folder that has herd.conf and nginx.conf but I need to make a conf file for a wordpress website - having issues with rewrite rules. I'm from Apache and normally would use an .htaccess file. So was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
