As for being able to toggle/override the settings, what about something like:

# or maybe just hard-code them in here?

Meaning a person could just touch ~/herd.sh to disable temporarily?

Imagine a scenario where I install Herd and get it setup, then I install Oh My Zsh which overwrites the .zshrc file.
It would be great if there was a way (including or preferably via command line) to re-inject the necessary Herd configuration, such as PHP, NVM, etc.
Maybe a tiny bit related to this: #360
