🔧 Issue: Restructuring the Backend

Hi @nrajesh1091,

I’m really happy to have you as a mentor for this project. I wanted to share the current situation and get your advice on restructuring our backend.

📌 Background

1. When we started this project, my friend and I had stronger experience in Frontend.
2. I was still new to Backend, so we initially used Express + MongoDB.
3. Later, I switched the backend to Supabase, mainly because I wasn’t very confident with database schemas and handling user IDs.
4. Now, I’ve gained good experience with fullstack development and I feel confident enough to properly build a custom backend with Express again.

🚨 The Problem

• If I immediately stop using Supabase, the entire app will break since everything is currently connected to it.
• I want to migrate back to Express + MongoDB (or a proper backend flow), but I’m not sure how to start this transition smoothly without breaking the app.

❓ What I Need Help With

• How should I plan the migration from Supabase back to Express?
• What’s the best approach to gradually shift without breaking the existing app?

@bhavishyaPlawat I have gone through the code base and there are multiple folders . I need to understand architecture . On how its built and also I can see we have backend and supabase as a separate folder and in backend I can see we are using express. Please find my queries below .

1. Are we in process of migration .? if so how much migration is completed .
2. I can see many constants placed in application / backend layer . We should create a constant file to store all the strings and error msgs.

If you are available during this weekend we can connect and you can walk me through the implementation.
