Is there a way to calculate watched time on currently playing video?

No, it's not related to an existing problem, actually it's a new feature request.

Describe the solution you'd like
When user starts watching a recording, we need a mechanism to see how much recording that user has watched. So that when user comes bck, we can play the same recording from the point user left in last session.

Additional context
We are using Big blue button for a students portal. Student really need a capability to play recording from the timestamp they left in their last session. This feature has been requested a lot by them. To achieve this, we need a mechanism to calculate the watch time of the user for a specific recording.

We used to have a POST call for this but I removed it. Maybe you can find it in the commit history and revamp it on your deploy.

Would you consider reintroducing this feature using localStorage or cookies to track the user's watched time per recording?

This would allow us to resume playback from the last watched position without requiring backend changes. If you're open to the idea, I'd be happy to contribute the implementation myself.
