Hi Dietmar. If you are on versoin 4.5.6.1-gplay then please try updating to the latest version 4.5.7.1-gplay. Since you are using the gplay version, simply updating using the google play store or auroa should work fine. Then please report back if you still experience the issue 👍 You can see the current app version in the drawer menu "About / License". |

Dear Sunik Kupfer, dear Bernhard Stockmann.
Thank you very much.
Now that the new version is available, I was able to complete the update
an hour ago. And at the moment, everything seems to be working as
expected and without any error messages.
Thank you for your quick responses and prompt assistance.
All the best to everyone.
Dietmar Engelberth

Hello everyone,
since the last phone and device software update (on 9 December 2025), I have been receiving the following error message in relation to the davx5 app (synchronisation: calendar and contacts): "EXCEPTION
at.bitfire.synctools.storage.LocalStorageException: Content provider returned null on insert".
I don't know if the two events are related, but I noticed that they occurred around the same time.
Additional information:
Package: at.bitfire.davdroid; Version: 4.5.6.1-gplay;
Android version: 15 (AP3A.240905.015.A2.G991BXXSIHYK1);
Device: Samsung SM-G991B (o1s)
A similar issue may be described in ‘Error: content provider returned null on insert #1851’.
However, it appears that this incident (bug) has since been resolved?!
Nevertheless, I am currently experiencing the error messages on a regular basis.
I'm new here, so I have some beginner questions:
How do I proceed from here? How do I get this information to support?
If necessary, I can provide an (anonymised) version of debug-info.txt (debug-info_anonymised.txt) and logcat.txt at a later date. Where and how can I do this?
Regards,
Dietmar
