Steps To Reproduce

1. Open Bitwarden

Expected Result

Left sidebar text should be white on grey background.

Actual Result

Left sidebar text is blue on grey background and it just looks weird. See screenshots below.

Additional Context

This happend after an upgrade from 2026.1.0 to 2026.2.1.
In this case Bitwarden Desktop Client theme set to "Default". Windows set to Dark theme.
Similar/same thing happens when windows is set to Light theme.
It might have something to do with using a selfhosted server.
If I add a private account on bitwarden.com to the client in the same client and switch between those accounts the layout of the sidebar changes.
Exactly the same thing happens to a colleague doing the same upgrade.

I've tried the following:
Un-install, cleaning out files under %APPDATA%\Bitwarden, reboot and then reinstall. Didn't help.

Thank you @pamperer562580892423 for pointing out the Vaultwarden report. I also confirmed that the Bitwarden self-hosted server would display Bitwarden's logo when attempting to test this before I scrolled down and saw @pamperer562580892423 's comment.

It is important to note that Vaultwarden is not associated with Bitwarden. Vaultwarden is a re-writing of the Bitwarden server code in Rust (n.b. Vaultwarden is NOT a fork of Bitwarden), that is not contributed to nor supported by the Bitwarden team or organization. The security audits granted to Bitwarden do not apply to Vaultwarden, and the Bitwarden support team is not able to respond to questions regarding Vaultwarden. I was doing some further testing with a member of my team when I saw that for some reason my self-hotsed server URL was set to https://vault.bitwarden.com and not my self-hosted server.

After connecting to my up to date Bitwarden self-hosted server I was able to reproduce the behavior that @LST-TobiasCederlund eported.

I'm escalating this for further investigation. If you have more information that can help us, please add it below.

I do ofcource understand Vaultwarden is not you responsibility. I'm on Bitwarden self-hosted. Version 2026.1.1 as noted in the initial report.

Hi, I think this should be resolved with the PR I just linked (#19820). Once that is released, we can check back and see if the issue is still occurring.
