Notion-like capabilities

Hi, more of a curious question, but how's the progress regarding Notion-like capabilities within dataview?

Had the following issues opened:

• WYSIWYG editors for tables and lists, GUI for building queries
• Column-level computations
• Notion-like table view with tracking

Related:

• Filtering & Sorting for tables/responsive views

Other things not mentioned yet:

• Relational databases

Saw this new plugin - thought it might be useful for building tables like Notion:

I'm also interested in these 3 plugins for table/database. After having read their readme, these are my initial impressions:

• https://github.com/trey-wallis/obsidian-notion-like-tables works like a simple table in Notion
• both https://github.com/RafaelGB/obsidian-db-folder and https://github.com/tomaszkiewicz/obsidian-database-plugin works like a table database in Notion.
  • These 2 plugins share the principle of using a folder as a container for multiple rows of table database. Each row is a markdown file, which might be somehow similar to Notion structure where each row is a json file ¹.
  • Imho, these 2 plugins serve the same purpose.

If you are curious what's the differences between a simple table vs a table database in Notion, I found this article that tried to break things down, with illustration.

Indeed, those plugins may suit your purposes better if your workflows tend to be "files in folder" focused :)

I join the thread to contribute with ideas after my experience mounting and maintaining the obsidian-db-folder plugin. I am using dataview as search engine and use regex with react hooks to edit the files

The main dependency is react-table and all the work is around it

TBH I'm not too keen on using these other plugins because they do not use dataview syntax. Also, they're rather incomplete and do not allow for column-level computations. It also would mean that I would have to ditch my current dataview workflows, which I'm not keen on. Would be far more excited to see dataview incorporate these features :)
