One of the reasons that the pop-up (called a "modal" in Obsidian, I do not know why) is possible in Tasks plugin is that Tasks is very specific about what fields a task can have, while dataview is much more flexible. I think it would be hard to make a modal that is useful for all the different fields dataview users might put in their tasks. |

@AnnaKornfeldSimpson I see what you mean. I was thinking just having a text box to edit the single line of task though, without worrying about any special system anyone might be using! |

Hi there,
I love using dataview for managing my tasks. I can create them anywhere in my notes and based on context they can organise themselves into different dataview query blocks. However, what I often want to do is edit a task to add a due date long time after creating it. Right now I have a master TODO list and ctrl+click on tasks to edit the original note with a due date. (The due date will make those tasks visible to the daily note). It would be great if there was a edit button at the end of the each task (like the tasks plugin), clicking it will bring a pop up dialogue with the existing text that the user can then edit, dataview to update the original note containing this task accordingly. Is that possible?
