Extracting data from inline field not working as expected when there is only one word in the field

Hi,
I have project files with a header (outside the YAML) that looks like this (the People field is the one I am interested in for this query):

Tags:: #projects/active
Status:: Ongoing
Summary:: Project summary here
Goals:: Project goals here
People:: [[Fiona Eve|Fiona]], [[Full name person 2|alias]] etc...
Deadline:: Tue 30 Aug 2022
Completion Date::

I also have a dashboard for each of my colleagues which should extract any projects that have their name in each project's people field, but this isn't working as expected. The persons dashboard has a dataview section that looks like this:

Projects

Active Projects

TABLE people as "People", deadline as "Due by"  
FROM #projects/active   
flatten people  
WHERE contains(people, "alias name")  

Archived Projects

TABLE people as "People", completed as "Completed"  
FROM #projects/archived   
flatten people  
where contains(people, "alias name")  

For some reason dataview isn't showing all the projects that match the query.
For example, if a project contains People:: Fiona, Adam then the project will show up in Fiona's dashboard.
But if the project contains People:: Fiona (nothing after her name) it will not show up.

The People:: field needs another letter after the users name before it will show up on that users dashboard.
For example:

People:: Fiona or People:: Fiona (with a space after), or People:: Fiona, (with a comma after) doesn't show up on Fiona's dashboard.
But People:: Fiona, Z or People:: Fiona Z does.

Doesn't seem to matter if the user's name is a [[fullname|alias]] link on the project field or not.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I am missing or doing wrong?
I have also tried icontains and containsword with the same results.

OK, I think I've found an answer, posting an update here just in case it is helpful for others.

I downloaded the dataview examples vault and went through their examples.
The solution to my query seems to be the following adjustment to the dataquery on the users dashboard:

TABLE people as "People", deadline as "Due by"
FROM #projects/active AND [[Fiona Eve]]
