Task Status - due - Have "cancelled" and "pass" as due statuses.

two new shortcuts for Tasks
pass with emoji of ⚠️ chose not to complete this, but have a record of that decision.

cancelled with emoji of ❌ I cancelled this, and I want to save that fact.

Is there a method to change or add emoji's for tasks related to the short cut functionality.

Are you talking about a task query?
Do you want to change the output of the date in due?

about field icons

Fields are constituted by the pair key: value. For inline fields we need to use brackets (square or round). Because Tasks plugin (another plugin dedicated to tasks) works with emojis/icons, for compatibility purposes (not only) it's possible to use the defined icons as keys, ignoring the brackets. https://blacksmithgu.github.io/obsidian-dataview/annotation/metadata-tasks/#field-shorthands

about custom tasks

There're some themes that render specific symbols used inside the [ ] in the tasks (for example - [?] this is a task as a question; or - [-] another as cancelled). You can try this kind of render in Minimal theme. Dataview has the ability to distinguish the symbol inside the brackets in the implicit metadata field status.

So I was asking if two could be added at some point. as in two shortcuts - "pass" and "cancelled"

I still don't understand this part. Are you asking if you can use a custom emoji as key?

I understand the key:: value pair and "icon yyyy-mm-dd" usage now.

I would like to have "pass" and ⚠️ like we have completed and ✅ or due and 📆
(pass:: 2022-11-26) or ⚠️ 2022-11-26 would be like 📆 2022-11-26 or (due:: 2022-11-26) note - I always use " ( " and ")"

And ❌ 2022-11-26 for (cancelled:: 2022-11-26).

And....where does one find out all these useful facts like [?] and [-] ? :-)
