Multi-valued CHOICE function (similar to SQL CASE clause)

Hi. I like the CHOICE function in Dataview, but I'd like to be able to have multiple conditions, like a SQL CASE clause. I know that I can nest CHOICE like

choice(X>1000,
"A".
choice(X>100,
"B",
choice(X>10,
"C",
"D"))) as rate

but it is cumbersome and error-prone.
Is there another function, say CHOICEPLUS, like

choiceplus(X>1000, "A", X>100, "B", X>10, "C", "D")

or would it be difficult to create it?

A case function could be added which implements the aforementioned behavior (predicate, value, predicate, value, predicate, value, default). I have been thinking about adding an actual "if/else" construct but that should suffice in the short term.

Any update here? I know this could be accomplished with DataviewJS, but wondering if it made it into Dataview itself. Haven't seen this feature anywhere on the docs.

If someone else needs equivalent functionality while waiting for case to arrive, I just found out it can be done via nested choice() statements.
