wonder if this is possible, embeding Dataview queries in the links?

Hi all

im struggling to understand something regarding Dataview 🙂
i currently have a MOC/TOC file with links to individual notes. each of these notes contain 1 Dataview query
ie something like this:

TABLE  status, rating, file.ctime AS Created, file.tags AS Tags
from  #dessert  and -"review"
WHERE rating != 3
sort status asc, file.ctime desc

what im trying to understand is if i can cut the use of these single notes and just somehow embed the queries in the links? ie when i press the link it launches the query
does that make any sense? 🙂
ie if my file has these links :

instead of needing a lunch and breakfest notes that only contain the Dataviewquery pressing the link Topic>>lunch just launches the query

I'm not sure I follow - could you describe your desired behavior (maybe with an image or some example files)?

sure let me try to be more clear (sorry about the messy question :))

I see - this isn't directly possible right now, though there are a few other ways you can organize this:

• Put each query udner a header and collapse the ones you don't want to look at.
• Put all of the queries in a single file, each under a different header, and then make your file link to each header; this will let you click and go to the corresponding header immediately.

Neither is perfect, but may help you reduce note clutter if you are concerned.

i tried these approaches but the loading times are really slow since i think when you link to a file with many queries with large data that can take awhile? unless im missing something and when you link to a specific header Dataview can only load the headers query?

in any case i can live with many cluttered files, 1st world problems:)
