Automatically updating fields, possible?

What keeps me from going all-in with Obsidian is the difficulty I have updating dataview when I want to change things.

Problem I'm trying to solve:

• A dataview table is created, and shows a handful of notes with various fields. like
  • fieldA::
  • fieldB::
  • fieldC::
• Later, I want to change the name of one of some fields. Change "fieldA" to "fieldZ", for example.
• What's the simplest way to update the dataview code, AND the notes that contain fieldA?

The only method I've used to update lots notes at once is with the Tag Wrangler plug-in. You can rename a tag, and it will update the tag in all notes. Is this something similar I could use to keep dataview updated?

It's a somewhat troublesome problem. My recommendation would be to use some sort of search and replace plugin or just open the folder in something like VS Code which has great search and replace functionality.

Isn't that a fundamentally different problem? There is an example vault that describes this use case that is linked somewhere in the docs. Could you try checking it out? It's by the user s-blu IIRC.
