Inline Query: "Parent" Frontmatter

I'm using AidenLx's FolderNote (which creates a note with the same name as the folder) and adding a new value called mydata.
I'm looking to run a query from a note inside that folder that retrieves the mydata value from the "parent" note.
In an inline query, I know I can call = [[ExampleFolder]].mydata and pull the value out, but is there any way to automatically determine the folder it's in, because I don't want to hardcode it?

Interesting question - I think DataviewQL is missing a few nice utility methods to make this easy... optimally, maybe something like

= link(this.folder + "/" + split(this.folder, "/")[length(split(this.folder, "/")) - 1]).mydata

Which just hackily computes {folder}/{name-of-folder} as a link and extracts the data.
