24/7 Recording plus events

Is it possible to record 24/7 and have the events be recorded to another folder, before enabling detection i had 1 hour videos, since i enabled detection it splits the 1 hour videos and for some reason its not recording some seconds/minutes after the event.
I would to have the 1 hour videos intact for better viewing and the events be recorded to another folder.
Couldn't find any way to do this.

Events don't have separate video files. When watching an event, it plays from the saved recordings.

-segment_time 3600

It is strongly discouraged to use long segment times like this. It will require a cache size large enough to store multiple large files. Also, if ffmpeg loses connection to your camera at any point, the entire segment is corrupted and lost.

What would be the best segment time for 24/7 recording?
The part about losing connection might be happening mostly because I'm running 2 off them trough a powerline so its a good idead to have low segment times.
