What’s new with ECMWF open data after Oct 1 2025?

The entire real-time catalog should now be open/free. What does that mean, practically?

Is IFS (HRES) now available at one hour intervals? This page still says 3-hour, but maybe it just needs to be updated?

I saw this announcement too but haven't looked at what's new yet. Maybe there are more variables and levels available. Looks like other products are available that weren't before.

Do any of you know why the available fxx for aifs on Google is only available in these weird intervals? 0 - 12 - 18, and then it jumps to 102. I could have sworn, before I updated Herbie it used AWS and it gave me normal 3 hour intervals.

I looks like ifs uses 3 hour intervals, but on Azure. Any idea why aifs is Google and ifs is Azure?
