The bad news is that it "works", but only partially—you have to press it twice to send the Esc event. This started a few iOS versions ago when Apple changed how Caps events work. Mapping Caps within Blink was the best workaround before iOS allowed modifier changes, and now we kept it for those who prefer not to modify system-wide settings. Pressing twice isn’t ideal, but it’s better than nothing. And since we can’t override system settings, switching apps can also feel inconsistent (what state is your CapsLock?). The good news is, if you don't mind changing Caps system wide to Control, then on Blink you can set Ctrl to send Esc on press (Ctrl and not Caps as system wide is now Ctrl). And that works like a charm, and is the way I have things configured myself. |

I tried to configure blink to treat the CAPS Lock key as control modifier or as Escape if released, but it seems to do only do Escape and don’t works as the control modifier.

See screenshot for the configuration of the hardware keyboard.
