Can a borgbackup client 1.2.3 do backup to a borgbackup server 1.1.18 ?

Hi,
Until now, I use borgbackup between 2 machines on CentOS 7. A client contacts the backup server to backup data from a cloud (owncloud). I started from version 1.1.4 (binary) and upgraded until version 1.1.18 (rpm with python 3.6). It seems that version 1.2 (python 3.8) cannot be installed easily on CentOS 7.

Now I would like to add a new server under Rocky Linux 8 (glibc 2.28) with the borgbackup client.

According to you, is it possible that I install on this server the version 1.2.3 of borgbackup so that it can make backups on the backup server which is under the 1.1.18 version?
Is it compatible to have a 1.2.3 client doing backups to a 1.1.18 server ?
