GSoC 2026 Proposal Draft: Scheduler Refactor with Jobs Store and Jobs View

Hi team,

I hope this email finds you well. Following up on my recent UI fix in PR #2404 , I've finalized my application for GSoC 2026.

I would be thrilled to work on the "Scheduler Refactor with Jobs Store and Jobs View" project. I have been able to come up with a technical proposal to break up the VortaScheduler into more focused components, flesh out the JobModel using Peewee, and connect this up to the new PyQt6 Jobs tab.

I have created the technical proposal and the project timeline, which spans 12 weeks, in the following Google Doc:

I have also recently been looking into issue #2360 , as that is the related issue concerning this project

I would greatly appreciate some feedback on the technical proposal, especially with regard to some edge cases with the existing QTimer implementation that need to be considered in the Phase 2 refactoring.
