Morph between similar form components, e.g. Checkbox Group <-> Tag List #1458

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
After adding more and more items to my Checkbox Group it started to consume quite a lot of vertical space and then I discovered that a Tag List would be more compact while still having a similar functionality.
Describe the solution you'd like
An easy way to switch/morph between the following sets of components
- Checkbox Group, Tag List
- Select, Radio Group
- Text Field, Text Area, Number, Date
Describe alternatives you've considered
Downloading, editing, and re-uploading the JSON works but is inconvenient and error-prone.

This came up in a customer PoC but not by the customer.
