Virtual Sensor UI parameters

I'm trying to add, using UI, a new PowerCalc virtual sensor to count the consumed KWh from a TUYA AT-Q-SY1-JWT smart switch. Can you please give me some examples of "Calculation enabled condition" value , so I can stop the counting when the switch is turned off ?

Also I'm looking for an example of "Power template" value for another switch implementation.

What do you have connected to that smart switch?

By default a virtual power sensor setup with a fixed strategy will not count the configured power value when the device is off, so you wont't need Calculation enabled condition. That only applies in advanced cases where you also don't want to count on other conditions.

Also I'm looking for an example of "Power template" value for another switch implementation.

Could you be more specific what you want to achieve? The template should just return a float value. You can test the template for correctness in Developer Tools and past in powercalc configuration.

When I first created the sensor I have put a value in this field and now I can't remove the value, only change it. If I edit the PowerCalc configuration from the UI, remove completely the value and submit the value is not remove and the next time I opened the configuration is still there.
Is there any other way to do it without delete and recreate the sensor ?

I need an example from "Calculation enabled condition" and "Power template" values, since I don't know the exact format.

Hello. Let me describe the hardware I'm using and the result I want to achieve:

I have multiple DIN smart switches TUYA AT-Q-SY1-JWT connected using locatuya. The switches are referred as, switch.water_switch2, etc in HA and has three attributes:

• sensor.current: the real time current consumed by switch in Amperes
• sensor.power_consumption: the real time power consumed by switch in Watts
• sensor.voltage: the real time voltage in Volts

I want to create a virtual energy sensor for each switch measuring the energy and add the daily sensor to Energy Meter, standalone or as sensor group to measure the total energy consumption.

What configuration should I use in UI of configution.yaml ?

You'll first need to create an energy sensor (and optionally a utility meter). You can do that with powercalc using the power_sensor_id option (YAML only).

- platform: powercalc
  entity_id: switch.water_switch2
  power_sensor_id: sensor.water_switch2_power_consumption

This should create an energy sensor.
You can also just create the energy sensor using HA helpers section (Riemann sum sensor), that would be similar.

When you have this energy sensor created you can add it to a group (either with GUI or YAML) and add this energy sensor to "Additional energy sensors" select.

Thank you very much for your help, I have created a Riemann sum sensor and it works!
I will use PowerCalc for others DIN switch I have without power meter.

I have another question: I want to count the daily energy and I have created a Helper as New Utility Meter with:

• Input Sensor: the newly created sensor above
• Meter reset cycle: daily
• Meter reset offset: 1 day
• Net consumption: off
• Delta values: off

Is it correct ?

Yes this is correct. This would be also the same as powercalc creates under the hood when you have create_utility_meters: true.
You have to rinse and repeat that when you want to have hourly / monthly sensors etc.
