How to measure using a shelly and docker on a Mac

Installed the script, and .env file (downloaded the env.dist file, and renamed that to .envin Mac finder.

That text seems already correct for my purpose: measure a Hue fixture.

However, I dont know how to connect the Mac with the running Docker to a Shelly smart plug.....

suppose it does not connect to a HA installed plug, and it needs to be a stand alone plug? but even then, how does the docker CLI see the plug?

because now I see:

Did you set SHELLY_IP correctly in .env?
When you can't get direct shelly connection to work, you can also just connect to any smartplug through HA. just set POWER_METER=hass. You also need to set HASS_URL and HASS_TOKEN in this scenario.

before I embark: does the script then as which power plug will be used? Or do I still need to state that in the .env file

so now I have set POWER_METER=hass and edited the Philips Hue bridge ip, the HASS_URL and HASS_TOKEN.

just wondering about the selection of the plug

you can select the plug in the wizard after you run the script.
or set POWERMETER_ENTITY_ID in .env
