Can Eve Energy (matter or otherwise) be used to measure?

Eve uses Thread or Matter over Thread to communicate. I assume it's not possible to use this with the Measure program?

I ask because I have some questions about the accuracy of the various TP-Link and Shelly devices. There are several blog posts and reviews that have shown they can be off by 30%+ in some instances. Not sure what others' experiences are with comparing them to ammeters. Happy to be wrong on this though.

I've also got both the MoT and Thread versions of Eve at home so it would be nice to not have to buy a new plug to measure at least one requested lightbulb from Signify.

You can use any smart plug which you have connected to HA for the measure tool.
So this one should also work.

The measurements are not scientific at al, but the accuracy should be enough for the purpose of this project, to get insights into individual devices consumption with reasonable accuracy.
I have Shelly plug S myself and would say they are pretty accurate. Did some verifications on that with some Zhurui PR10 meter and other power meters and they were similar.
Also for every measurement submitted to the library we generate visualizations and eyeball for any measure errors / outliers.

Ok ran into an issue. Two questions:

1. Does this need to be run on the Pi that is running Home Assistant? (I imagine not given the env settings, but thought I'd double check)
2. Is this able to be run on a Pi4 running 32-bit raspbian?

I got an error that said that the the arm/v8 wasn't on the manifest. (Sorry, should have written it down before I shut down)

I probably installed docker wrong but thought I'd ask anyways before I tried a new install.

No you don't have to run the docker container on the same PI as Home Assistant.
Can be any other computer running docker and on the same network as HA.

I didn't build the docker image for arm/v8. I think I can easily add that to the build matrix.

Let me know if you don't have any other machine to run docker on, than I'll go forward and see if I can build for arm/v8.

Following up on this:

1. Eve definitely works
2. You don't need to be on the same Pi, but you do need to have it on 64-bit Raspbian if you go the Raspbian route
3. When using the Eve, it's fairly slow given the Thread network limits. Here were the settings I found useful:
   SLEEP_TIME=3
   SLEEP_TIME_SAMPLE=2
   MAX_NUDGES=5
   PULSE_TIME_NUDGE=2
   and the most important:
   HASS_CALL_UPDATE_ENTITY_SERVICE=true
4. It's significantly slower than a WiFi device due to the need to call the update service.
