Feature Request: Smart Chat Management Functions – Export & Delete Individual Chats

Hi Brian,

First, thank you for your fantastic work on Smart Connections and Smart Chat – these tools have been truly valuable to me!

Suggestion:
I would like to propose two important features for managing Smart Chats directly within the plugin:

1. Export individual Smart Chats in Markdown (.md) format
2. Delete individual Smart Chats (threads) from the vault/UI

Why is this useful?

My main use case is that I use Smart Connections and Smart Chats to develop foundational insights or generate structured knowledge around a topic. Afterwards, I often want to “hand off” that chat history (including the key context and findings) to another LLM – sometimes an open-source model, sometimes just a different provider – and continue the conversation there.

Right now, I achieve this by writing a custom PowerShell script that extracts chats from the .ajson files. However, this approach is cumbersome:

• The exported result still contains many unnecessary technical fields and metadata that make the result cluttered and difficult to transfer.
• Having integrated export and deletion options inside Obsidian/Smart Chat would be far more user-friendly, robust, and help ensure only the essential, usable conversation content (e.g. User/Assistant messages with context, but not the raw backend structure) is exported.

Benefits:

• Simple workflow for “finishing” a chat in Smart Chat and moving it to another tool or LLM
• Easier archiving, backup, or organization of key discussions
• Tidier vault (ability to delete obsolete Smart Chats)
• Encourages knowledge portability between LLMs
• Greatly improves usability for power users who iterate between different models/platforms

Possible implementation ideas:

• Right-click or context menu on a chat thread: “Export as Markdown”, “Delete Chat”
• Optional settings for export: with/without metadata, time stamps, etc.

I believe this would provide a big boost to the plugin’s value for anyone using LLMs seriously as research, writing, or thinking tools. And it would make the transition between LLM platforms much smoother!

I second the request for an option to "export" a chat thread as .md, saving it in my vault.
This would smooth out my workflow where I regularly copy/paste content unto my vault, which happens to be rather cumbersome on mobile.
Each time I manually "export" a chat interaction I try to include:

• A reference to the system prompt that was used
• The user prompt(s)
• The language model that was used
• The name of the Smart-Chat thread and which device I used
• A list of the files that were included in the context

Keeping track of the context trees can get overwhelming, especially when I modify the context mid-conversation. It is arguably unnecessary to record all of this, but I am trying to preserve things enough that I am able to go back and determine which of my notes influenced the responses.
Ideally, I'd like a snapshot of the entire context for each chat completion stored in a local database, and I'd like the "exported" chats in my vault to contain references to the database records. This level of detail is arguably unnecessary, but my engineer brain wants it.
