Old versions

Joan Guillén i Pelegay edited this page Feb 16, 2018 · 8 revisions

Current version (1.2.5 released on February 16, 2018) has two flavours: desktop version (the main and the most powerful one and available for GNU/Linux, MacOSX and Windows) and web version that you can run online with any browser and that is also connectable to the boards in Chrome/Chromium with its plugin.

You can always get previous versions on github releases... and this may make sense to get unsupported and experimental flavours.

ChromeOS version

This chrome app version, in the past 1.2.4 release, is available on github and also in the Chrome Web Store. You can install it dragging the crx file to chrome://apps into Chrome/Chromium browser.

This is now unsopported because it has too many limitations, and also you can run Snap4Arduino on Chromebooks using the normal web version.

Embedded version

1.2.4 version is also available on github. It works in any GNU/Linux based machine, including embedded platforms and single board computers. Then, you can run it on new generation Arduino boards (Yun, Tian, Industrial 101...) and also on any kind of Gnu/Linux based single board computers (Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone...). Note that the most powerful single board computers can also run normal web version. More docs on this section of this wiki.

Experimental Android version

An experimental 1.2.3 android version was released and you can get it on github. It was too many UI issues, but serial connection (by bluetooth, between phone and board) was running ok.

Windows XP

Note that desktop Windows version is not supported XP since 1.1.6-beta-RC2... but you can run web version using Chrome.
