Storage permissions

Hi,

This is my first installation via F-Droid (LineageOS 16.0 on Sony XZ1 Compact). After installation I get permissions errors (when starting the application and when installing games). For example: Error: /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.emunix.insteadlauncher/cache/instead-crash-dive-1.0.0.zip (Permission denied). If I download ZIP archive and try to install that way, I get: "Unable to unpack game. Make sure you have... " I see that application does not require and storage permissions so this is probably causing the issue. Is there a workaround I could use.

Hi,
This is the working directory of the application, it does not need to have read/write permissions.

There is an SD card on the phone. Is the specified directory located on it? You can write something there from the file manager?

you are right, I have SD card inserted. And checking with File Manager (f-Droid) without root grant I can create an empty file in the folder /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.emunix.insteadlauncher/cache/. However when I try to edit the file with e.g. Total Commander Editor, I get Error writing to file...
When I try to create an empty file on the SD card /storage/FD8C-10F6/Android/data/org.emunix.insteadlauncher/cache/ (folder exists), I get an error: Not permitted.
So you are right, this is a system issue I have on the LineageOS, have to figure how to fix it.

Will write you an e-mail. It seems that there is something wrong with LineageOS 16 build for Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, since many users have issue with applications not being able to write to the SD drive (even withing their own context folders...). Like something is wrong with the implementation of the adoptable storage. I also saw some posts from users which were having similar issues on stock Sony Xperia-s...
However for now this application is the only one that also complains it cannot write in its own folder in the internal storage. Like first it fails to create folder /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.emunix.insteadlauncher/files/theme, and if I create it manually, it will then complain it cannot create subfolder saves, then games.
Will check with the apk. Thanks again!
