Use buildingenvelopedata.org in EnergyPlus

WINDOW can produce idf snippets of products/units for EnergyPlus. IDF snippets are for whole walls or windows, not for single layers. pyWinCalc could be extended to produce idf snippets. It would be great to have that method as a service so that new measurement data from an urgent building project can directly be used in EnergyPlus.

The NFRC Certified Product Directory does not yet contain idf snippets. CMAST is able to produce idf snippets with the Component Modelling Approach (CMA).
Residential buildings often need the NFRC label that the window is in the NFRC Certified Product Directory.
Commercial building projects often use EnergyPlus. Residential building projects don't. When dealing with ASHRAE Standards 90.1 and 209, engineers may manually define windows in EnergyPlus.

The Californian Energy Code Title 24 is a good example of a state who enforces energy requirements.
