@uzi-187 reset this pc (local reinstall or cloud download) this re-images the windows you already have. in practice it doesnt re-run the full hardware eligibility checks (tpm/cpu/uefi/gpt), so machines that already run windows 11 often reset/reinstall fine even if theyre unsupported. microsoft doesnt document this as a supported path on ineligible hardware though, so theres no guarantee. if you go this route, you're still in the "unsupported" bucket and ms warns you may not get all updates clean install from a recovery drive/usb (i.e., windows setup) yes, this will check cpu/tpm/secure boot/uefi/gpt and will block on a legacy bios + mbr disk and an unsupported cpu unless you apply a bypass. So, WinRE > Reset this PC usually works and doesnt newly judge your hardware |

Thanks to Flyoobe I managed to install Win11 on a drive that is MBR (non-GPT) connected to a motherboard that is non-UEFI and that has an unsupported CPU.
My question today is: Would Win11 check if my machine is supported if I were to use Windows Recovery Environment (from advanced startup or a recovery drive) to clean install Windows 11?
