Confused about lateral friction #4189

I apologize if this is a really basic question, but I'm confused as to the relationship between lateral friction and friction coeffiicent i.e.
Fn = uR.
If the dynamic friction between 2 object is 0.5, what would both of their lateral friction be? Would they just be 0.25?
