Could Relay be offered via the new PIE - PHP Installer for Extensions?

It can be a bit cumbersome to installed relay - particularly if you use litespeed. It seems like PIE makes this a lot easier.

It doesnt work for me. And I don't think its because I'm using lsphp. It seems to require hiredis. Long ago I had futzed with doing that (#10), but ended up just using ondrej's repo and doing some symlinking.

Ideally this PIE method would "just work" without needing those dependencies. But perhaps that's precisely how PIE is supposed to work...

I've confirmed that PIE is working though, by installing xdebug with it. Just had to activate it via adding a .ini file

Relay has dependencies, you have to install them, PIE can't do it for you.

Hmm... When I use the ondrej ppa, I don't install hiredis or other dependencies. I just did it on a fresh system and can't find hiredis anywhere. I presume the ppa is building relay in the background and therefore the deps don't need to be installed?

If that's all accurate, is there any way to achieve this with PIE? Or is it really just a mechanism to aid in building extensions?
