Similar to what feather has, it basically acts as an additional custom word you can assign alongside your normal seed.
I'm having trouble using a 16 word seed to import a wallet, doing that with keys instead works fine.
I only know of it's existence in Monero as that is the only cryptocurrency I actively use.
