[CAL-3111] Scheduler now sees invite as coming from the default "Add to calendar" calendar, rather than from the user's name

Issue Summary

Scheduler now sees invite as coming from the default "Add to calendar" calendar, rather than from the user's name.
e.g.: If "Friday meetings" = default "Add to Calendar" designated under Advanced cal.com settings, then when someone schedules a meeting with me, they see "Friday meetings" as the "Who" that is inviting them -- rather than my name / email.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Scheduler click on any invite link (same issue for any of mine) and books a time

Actual Results

1. Scheduler gets confirmation screen, correctly showing "Who" / host info on the webpage
2. Scheduler gets confirmation email, correctly showing "Who" / host info in the body of the message, correctly showing the sender as the event owner (my name), BUT incorrectly showing the Who in the actual invite as being my calendar... in other words, the Calendar name itself appears as the organizer and host (e.g., "Friday meetings")... rather than me / my email (gmail in this case)

Expected Results

• As of Jan 30 or 31st, it would exhibit correct behavior of not adding the calendar as an invitee and making them the organizer/host. That calendar can be named anything and is inward-facing -- not public... but is now being exposed to the scheduler.
• Even beyond the bug of showing the calendar name as host / attending the meeting -- vs just myself as before -- could be even more problematic if those calendar names were something confidential and/or just not intended for the other party (e.g., if a calendar was called "Unimportant time-wasting meetings" etc.)

@kuriosdoulos I tried reproducing this, but seems to work fine in my case.

Maybe I am missing something, can you explain a little bit more about what exact conditions should be met to reproduce this bug.

@Nis-Han Thanks for working on reproducing this. For me, "Who" = the Google calendar name, instead of my name as the Cal.com user.

Which matches the calendar name in the settings...

so it's as if it's inviting the calendar as the organizer/host for some reason. This didn't happen before until recently. I tried changing calendar name, and still same issue. It just reflects the calendar name to the scheduler rather than me as the organizer.

Thank-you @kuriosdoulos, finally I was able to reproduce it. I was not familiar that we can make custom calendars like this in Google calendar, that's what caused the confusion. I will Investigate what is causing this issue, and see if I can fix this.

Hi @kuriosdoulos. I did some digging and it seems like this is happening due to the way Google Calendar is behaving. I might be wrong since you mentioned that it was working correctly before, but there is also a chance that the folks at google might have updated something.

Here are my observations

• Adding additional calendar apart from the default one in google calendar also creates a new virtual/child user with the same name as the new calendar.
• Adding an event to this new calendar will only allow this particular user to be the organizer.
• At best, the original/parent user can be added as another guest.
• Even if we remove the virtual user from the guest list, since the event is added in its corresponding calendar, it will have the virtual user's/New calendar's name in the Who field.

I have tried manually creating events on google calendar, by adding events on a custom calendar and adding some guests, and sending the mail invites to those guest. All those mail invites have the custom calendar name in the Who field, and I can't figure out a way to get rid of it while not having the event removed from that calendar itself.

Since this card is generated by google, I don't think there is a way to fix this for Cal meetings, if we cannot schedule an event like that manually.

Again, I may be wrong and there might be some workaround which is beyond my current understanding. I hope this information helps when someone else attempts to solve this issue.
