Typescript Theme Extension

Using the example from the docs and trying to replicate it in my project but for some reason is not working nicely with TS.

import {DefaultTheme} from 'react-native-paper';

declare global {
  namespace ReactNativePaper {
    interface ThemeColors {
      success: string;
    }
    interface Theme {}
  }
}

const theme: ReactNativePaper.Theme = {
  ...DefaultTheme,
  dark: false,
  roundness: 10,
  colors: {
    ...DefaultTheme.colors,
    success: '#36F1CD',
    }
};

For some reason when using the theme object it won't autocomplete/typecheck the properties...
Using
"react-native-paper": "^3.4.0"
