Property-based Events?

Hi, in the Calendar-view I see the option for property-based events. I don't find any documentation on that feature. I was hoping it would enable me to show personal time-based notes on the calendar without it having to be a task. But I can't get it to work.
I've been using the FullCalendar-plugin for now to show my journalling- or log-notes. I write multiple separate journal-notes a day.
