Unchecked dependencies

There is no mention of which tools are necessary to run the Makefile, and there is no check at runtime, leading to errors such as :
/usr/bin/python: No module named markdown
make: *** [index.html] Erreur 1

A very valid concern. Let's add an autoconf script to test for these !

I agree that it is an issue.
Since the purpose of the project is to produce the most perfect Makefile ever, we shouldn't create a configure file, especially not with tools such as autoconf. Out Makefile will configure itself.

That is a valid architectural decision - the choice of the maintainer must prevail.

But by configure itself, do you mean to make it robust against missing dependencies at runtime ? or do you intend to have code that rewrites itself ?

I think we should do something similar as the detection of the existence of "/usr/bin/env python2" in the Makefile. We can test for the existence of the module, and either fetch it or prompt an error message. Maybe ask the user.
