I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I suspect we're extremely unlikely to participate in GSOC 2026. Some of the projects which included more active development of caMicroscope have stopped, and last year we were not accepted into GSOC due to lack of active development, so that would be worse this year I'd suspect. I think it'd probably still be good for us to make an easier onboarding process for new people; the usual advice is to ask potential contributors to set up caMicroscope and see if it makes sense to them. |

Hello caMicroscope team 👋,
I’m Tanisha, a B.Tech CSE student interested in contributing to caMicroscope, particularly in preparation for Google Summer of Code 2026.
I’ve started exploring the project , including the Caracal repository and documentation and I’m really inspired by how it supports digital pathology visualization and annotation.
I’d love to understand more about the current focus areas and where new contributors can start learning or help out. Could you please guide me on:
1.Where I can find beginner-friendly issues or contribution pathways
2.If there are ongoing tasks or features suitable for new contributors
Thank you so much for your time and for maintaining such a fascinating project! 🙏
