• copy the group preset to our config that should only apply to new /stable branches and merge with other rules
• add automerge, so at best we only get one PR for everything (except major)
• add renovate-approve to code owners so it can approve and automerge (on main and stable branches). For releases we will have release branches that are ignored by renovate, as in the monorepo
