"Companion" materials are the main materials

Companion materials link to syllabus (but not the other way around). They should be more prominent on README and probably have another name (like Workshop Materials). More prominent could just mean first on that list instead of last.

Now I can't find the Companion materials at all! I kind of wanted to look at them again; they seemed useful. Is this workshop-specific pedagogy?

Yes it is workshop-specific pedagogy, but it is not for during the workshop but after.

I got lots of feedback and I've not finalized, if you can believe it.
