EC status (`pool set-rf`)

I see $SNAP/lib/$CRAFT_ARCH_TRIPLET_BUILD_FOR/ceph/erasure-code here, but can't seem to find anything in pool- or disk-related CLI options.

Is EC built-in but not exposed for configuration?

Can the docs be improved to clarify the status (pool set-rf) of EC?

I didn't know what is supported. I used just the microceph pool comands that are documented, thinking the rest isn't supported (for whatever reason). If the only way to create a pool is with set-rf and I have to pick 2 or 3, can I still use the ceph command you mention?
If that's possible, I'd try those.

Slight misunderstanding -- set-rf doesn't create pools, it merely sets the replication factor on existing replicated pools plus the default for future pools. Creation of pools can and should be done via the standard ceph admin tool, this is fully supported.

Note that for EC pools you might need to create your own EC profile, set-rf doesnt handle those. There's one default profile shipped, currently this looks like this:

$ sudo ceph osd erasure-code-profile get default
k=2
m=2
plugin=isa
technique=reed_sol_van

If your needs differ from this profile you'll need create your own using ceph osd erasure-code-profile set ...
