Ubuntu cannot be installed on an external SSD via USB

Bug Description

Ubuntu 26.04 cannot be installed on an external SSD via USB
I have downloaded all kinds of copies. release-building-experimental-dangerous
They all fail when trying to partition the disk

Steps to reproduce the behavior

The old Ubuntu installer was working. All installation programs for Linux distributions
Work when installed via USB
I was able to install Ubuntu when placing the SSD in the main machine port

Please consider submitting the bug directly through apport once you encounter the issue during the install. You can also manually run sudo ubuntu-bug ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap in a terminal in the live session. You'll be able to submit a bug report to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-desktop-provision that already includes all the necessary log files.

This SSD is connected to a Type-C port.

This is when the installation failed.

The command sudo ubuntu-bug ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap cannot be reported.

I bought a Type-C to USB 3.0 adapter.
I tried again and the installation was successful.
It seems the installation problem was related to using Type-C.
