Use of skipLibCheck: true

I was wondering what is the reason for using skipLibCheck: true in tsconfig.json. Using CWC as a dependency, it forces us to also use skipLibCheck: true or our build fails.

Attempting to build CWC with skipLibCheck: false fails with this error:
