Adding other type of representation

Hi James,
I noticed that the EntityAPI class has a function, add_access_representation, which allows adding an access representation. For my work, I need to add a preservation representation to some assets.

For now, I’ll be using the EntityAPI call (POST: api/entity/information-objects/{ref}/representations) directly instead of pyPreservica. However, I was wondering if support for adding other types of representations is something planned for pyPreservica in the future?

Hi,

I thought it was possible to add another type of representation through the API, as it allowed specifying the type. But, it seems to only work when the representation type is set to "Access." For now, I will look into other alternatives.

I followed this up with the engineering team and your right, it currently only works for Access representation types. This may change in the future to support Preservation types, but there is no timeline at the moment.
